Exciting progress has been taking place on the iconic Smith Street in Fitzroy.
The front and rear façade of CDL Australia’s joint venture project, Fitzroy Fitzroy, has now been revealed, taking its place in the streetscape and heralding a significant milestone as it moves into the final stages of construction.
With first residents expected to move in later this year, we sat down with the project sales and marketing team – Dow Real Estate – to discuss what buyers love about the inner-north and the Fitzroy Fitzroy project.
The Fitzroy appeal
According to Taylor Dow from Dow Real Estate, Fitzroy’s enduring appeal comes down to its lifestyle, connectivity and established character.
“The lifestyle is second to none. You have everything Melbourne and Fitzroy is famous for right at your doorstep, while still being incredibly well connected,” he said.
Lifestyle factors such as walkability, dining, parks and connectivity continue to play a major role in buyer decision-making, particularly within the inner north.
“This is what Fitzroy is known for, so it’s a huge part of the buying decision,” Mr Dow said.
Buyer interest in the suburb has remained consistently strong throughout the campaign, with Fitzroy continuing to attract significant enquiry and engagement from purchasers seeking a long-term home close to the CBD.
What buyers love about Fitzroy Fitzroy
Taylor said several defining features of Fitzroy Fitzroy have stood out to buyers, including the project’s heritage façade, spacious apartment layouts and boutique scale.
“The heritage façade and the high level of owner occupiers, along with the spacious and well-appointed residences, have really resonated with buyers,” he said.
Comprising only 63 residences, the project has attracted a predominantly owner-occupier market, contributing to what Mr Dow believes will become a strong sense of community once residents move in.
Residents will also enjoy access to the Smith Club, a sophisticated residents-only space designed for gatherings and entertaining, serving as an extension of the apartment living areas. The rooftop retreat will feature immersive gardens, seating areas and shade structures surrounded by extensive greenery, creating additional shared spaces for residents to relax and connect.
With construction now visibly progressing on site, buyer confidence has continued to strengthen as purchasers are able to physically experience the scale and quality of the development firsthand.
“Seeing, touching and feeling what you buy is an enormous advantage,” Mr Dow said.
He added that the quality of the building, larger residence sizes and boutique nature of the development continue to distinguish Fitzroy Fitzroy within Melbourne’s apartment market.
“The high quality of the building, the sizes of the residences and the fact that almost every buyer is an owner occupier really sets it apart,” he said.
As Fitzroy Fitzroy approaches completion, the project is continuing to take shape within one of Melbourne’s most tightly held and sought-after inner-city neighbourhoods, bringing together heritage character, contemporary living and a strong sense of place on Smith Street.
