Construction activity is abuzz at West Melbourne's The Marker

Construction is progressing well on site at The Marker in Melbourne, an eight-level architectural landmark comprising shopping, dining and outdoor spaces plus an assortment of luxury inner-city apartments. The joint venture with Lechte Corporation and Crema Group is CDL’s first Melbourne development and has already achieved great sales success since its launch last year.

Substantial progress has been made on site with demolition works carried out in spring last year, removing an old commercial office furniture warehouse to make way for the vibrant new three-building village.

Located at 512-544 Spencer Street just 900m from the CBD, The Marker will be an urban oasis and an exciting transformation for the area representing outstanding value with everything that the world-class City of Melbourne offers right at your fingertips.

The site is far from the demolition zone it was recently, with three levels of new underground car parks now beneath formwork and rising framework while crews work tirelessly to deliver the complete structure by April 2022.

The site occupies more than 4,000sqm and upon completion will comprise 198 residential apartments, ground floor retail tenants anchored by an ALDI supermarket, plus shops, cafes, restaurants and bars lined by green streetscapes, small plazas and seating areas.

The Marker is nestled within Spencer, an inner-city pocket that is benefiting from a $250 million Government investment which includes the extension of the Melbourne Tram Network including a new local station, making this a central hub for residents who work or study in the CBD. Further details on the City of Melbourne’s commitment to Spencer can be found here.

With rising property prices and increased demand at rare inner-city masterplanned developments, there has never been a better time to buy. Eligible homebuyers can also take advantage of a $15,000 Development Grant. With apartments priced from $555,000, The Marker represents unmissable value.

The Marker at a glance:

  • Only 900m to Melbourne CBD
  • 10,000 square metres of increased open space and extensive landscaped surroundings, creating places abound for people to sit, sip a drink and simply soak up the ambience
  • Leafy walls and jungle foliage are complemented by a 40 per cent targeted tree canopy
  • The area is set to benefit from the $250 million Queen Victoria Market Precinct Renewal, the $6.7 billion West Gate Tunnel, and the $11 billion Melbourne Metro Rail Project.
  • By 2037, the precinct is expected to accommodate 9,000 residents – up from 5,500 in 2017
  • The University of Melbourne is just seven minutes away
