City Developments Ltd (CDL) has been awarded a total of five awards – four gold and one silver – at this year’s Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards (ASRA). This major achievement further highlights CDL’s longstanding commitment to improving the quality and consistency of climate-related disclosures in the global development industry.
This year’s virtual awards mark the sixth year ASRA has recognised developers for their corporate reporting, with CDL at the fore of the long list of Singapore companies which dominated 2021 nominations.
CDL was awarded:
The official bestowments represent the fifth consecutive year CDL has picked up winning positions, earmarking it as among Singapore’s best development companies for leading reporting standards and frameworks in the building industry.
As a part of the judging process, ASRA spearheads a thorough evaluation process where an independent judging panel determines all finalists and winners. This year’s judges included a range of respected international industry experts including Tim Mohin, Sylvain Guyoton, Dr Madelyn Antoncic, Elaine Cohen, Professor Doctor Guler Aras and more.
In the running for the top spots were 494 entries received from 17 countries across the 19 award categories. Securing a top spot in any of these categories recognises a company’s commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) disclosure and communication.
CDL Chief Sustainability Officer, Esther An, says sustainability reporting plays a critical role in meeting the more stringent expectations of investors, financiers and stakeholders on how ESG can create value for business.
“CDL takes pride in having published 14 sustainability reports since 2008, as part of our longstanding commitment towards sustainability best practices and robust ESG disclosure,” she said.
“We are honoured to be recognised by ASRA once again this year for our dedication and efforts in reporting ESG performance in a strategic, integrated and forward-looking manner.”
